Save Old Farms Road
Disappointed to report that the YES vote carried the day. Turnout was tremendous and we are proud to have maintained a transparent and non-partisan position. We brought out 1000 NO Votes in four short weeks and forced the The YES folks to activate pre-built networks in order to salvage what it had assumed was a slam-dunk.

This should serve as a wake up call to town leaders and officials as well as to town residents. Never assume you know what people want if you are not actively and continuously listening to and learning from them. Engagement is critical.

We can still Save Old Farms Road.
Get involved; Stay involved!
The proposed Phase I project...

-
Does not address the narrow bridges that are of great concern to residents

-
Will have very little impact on the number of accidents on Old Farms Road
-
Will create a modern traffic corridor between RT44 and RT4
-
Adds a roundabout, designed and sized specifically to accommodate tractor trailers, creating attractive routes trucks and more traffic in Avon’s School Zones
-
Clear-cuts acres of historic, mature forest - ranging 3 - 6 times the width of the roadway itself

-
Provides no strategies and no provisions for preserving any open space or limiting future development in the abutting forest

-
Lacks active community engagement for potential changes that are central to Avon's history and character.
